Philippine Association of Metropolitan Washington Engineers
PAMWE is a non-profit, non-partisan, professional organization whose primary objectives include:
• granting scholarships to deserving students
• serving as a hospitality house for Filipino-American engineers and other related professionals who are new to the metro Washington area
• establishing and maintaining an employment/placement assistance program, with special concern for the newly-arrived and unemployed Filipino engineers.
Since 1981, PAMWE has granted 117-scholarship terms in the Philippines as well as in the United States. Several newly-arrived engineers in the United States have gained employment through PAMWE's Placement Assistance Program. Networking among PAMWE members have also led to better employment in engineering positions. In addition, PAMWE's Continuing Education Program and Seminars enhanced the knowledge of its membership.
